Reduce Stress & Anxiety with NLP
In these changing economic times, our fast paced living has lead to increased pressures and demands that affect our professional and personal lives. The consequences of stress and anxiety can be far reaching and can affect us all in different ways. Stress and Anxiety can take many physical and mental forms that people don’t even recognise as stress or anxiety and pass off as something else altogether.
Stress is not necessarily a ‘bad’ thing. Without the ability to feel stress, we wouldn’t have probably been able to survive as a species, and in some cases can be useful in being motivated to do something, get things done and overcome an obstacle. However too much stress can definitely be detrimental. And according to new research from the University of California, Berkeley, a little stress may not be so bad for us after all.
Stress is primarily a physical response. When stressed, the body thinks it is under attack and switches to ‘fight or flight’ mode, releasing a complex mix of hormones and chemicals such as adrenaline, cortisol and norepinephrine to prepare the body for physical action.
Now have you ever found yourself in situations where your to-do list seems endless, deadlines are fast approaching and you find yourself saying ‘Eek! I feel stressed!’? Suffering from low energy, headaches, have a bit of insomnia, or maybe aches, pains or tense muscles? Do you have poor concentration, maybe a little hyper-vigilant? It’s now been proven that stress lowers the immune system, causes headaches, fatigue and is the cause of most sick days taken off work in many countries.
At some time or another most of us feel stressed – perhaps through overwork; maybe a major life change, change of job, things like moving house or bereavement; maybe money problems.
Different events affect different people at different times. Whatever the trigger, without some help or the ability to take action, all areas of our life can become affected adversely, thereby increasing our stress levels.
Neuro- Linguistic programing provides us with a blueprint of reality that shows how others have positively responded to similar stressful situations that we are facing at present. This lets us understand about practical life-situations and how it can be successfully handled. We see the differences in approaches and make conscious efforts to change our attitudes to stressors.
Many people today often feel anxious or stressed; that’s not rocket science – yet what’s the process behind stress and how do we proceed to ‘not’ have it?
In this 1 day workshop we will look at a positive big picture view that will help us keep all stresses in perspective. You will learning specific practical tools, techniques and applications that will have a positive impact on stress and anxiety levels personally, professionally and in all areas of your life.
